I was growing more unhappy with Vista as time went on. I’m not sure why but to me it felt like a sloppy work flow and I wasn’t all pleased that I have to spend 2-4hours after a format of Vista disabling stuff.  But when I happen to get a few viruses (completely my fault) I knew I had to reformat my laptop. I happen to find out about RC release of Windows 7 decided I wanted to give it a shot.

It’s been 2 weeks since then and I’m impressed with Windows 7. First is that I don’t have to spend 2 hours disabling things with 7 I only need to spend 2 minutes. The task bar has been greatly improved with a very inspired Mac system to handle accessing programs. I haven’t tried to find everything I can with this OS but it’s the little things that matter to me with options of changing backgrounds(change the time to when you want the background to change! fancy.) to the blurring (Vista had but ate all resources to do it). The Aero theme is fantastic. Windows 7 seems to be able to handle everything I throw at it.

The problem is I bought a Alienware m15x laptop. It works great for everything almost. It has latency issues and when I first got it I had major problem with it on Vista which happen to be BIOs driver issue. But since Windows 7 is still in development I’m getting latency spikes. Which I can’t have. For example tonight I finally felt the need to work on some music but I was getting some terrible cracking noise and stuttering. I can’t work with that really makes you loose focus.

I really think this issue is only effecting Alienware users and most other computers shouldn’t have a issue. I have Windows 7 on another laptop and desktop computer and seem to be running better than my system. Reminds me that since Vista they introduced a rating system how well windows thinks your computer can handle things. Those other computers I have 7 on I can do that rating system no problem, on mine… Ha. It hangs on video and can’t complete it but oddly I have no issues with high graphical demanding games. Though I can’t update the video drivers with out my computer getting messy.

So theres a few bugs still to be worked out in Windows 7. But hey it is still in Beta or RC whatever it’s not finish is the point. And what I’ve seen so far without a doubt Windows 7 is the best OS I have ever used. I’m looking forward when they finish it.

I have been following Fritz’s photography for sometime now. And while I don’t know a ton about the art the bit I have seen he is most definitely one of my favorite photographers. But beyond that he also does a lot of quality web designs. The more I learn about the industry (web design) the more I can appreciate the work he does and mine as well. Due to the amount of people getting jobs whos work I think is not up to par to charge money for.

I highly recommend checking out his work! Check it out.

Okay so I want to start sharing some artwork that I enjoy, find inspiring, and peices I’ve done myself. Or at least make it a bit more known. For example I do all the artwork, logos, graphic design etc for my project soulFrost. But I do more that just work on this project and I want to make this blog more or less the home for all this.

Now the two pictures I have posted happen to be actually two album covers. The first is compilation from Naked Music label (which is sadly almost dead) I’ve never owned this CD or have the mp3s to it. Just the cover design is so well done but I think the pattern really caught my eye. The second is the 5th album from Jamiroquai. I don’t think I need to explain why this is cool. Look at it. LOOK. I mean you can’t get any cooler. Seriously. :P

I hope who ever reads this likes this post as I will time from time post similar one! Let me know via comments.

I been meaning to post about this sooner but I wanted a copy of the night and I didn’t get it until tonight because it was recorded on someone elses laptop while I was doing my gig.

First thoughts were.. If this is good I’ll make a demo CD to use! Well after listening to it I have labelled it “broken.” Don’t get me wrong there is some really decent mixing happening. The thing is, is that, well.. I was so drunk that while I was listening to this I had no idea I picked half of these songs. I know people liked it but wow it is sloppy. And I guess when I’m that drunk it means for me is abuse filters until everyone knows how filters work. Like what the hell was I thinking? I wasn’t.

Theres a lot of volume changes I think due to yelling at people or people trying to talk to me and I couldn’t hear them so I turned it down. I guess the volume knob for the speakers was too much common sense at the time. On top of that theres like a couple areas where I just have things looping for like 10 minutes I’m pretty sure someone had to be talking and I turned off the speakers or something.

But seriously all the small gigs I’ve done here and there this one is the best one so far. And I’m looking forward to finish putting together a demo cd and pimping my stuff! Should be a very interesting month ahead. On top of that I have fancy business cards made now. Fancy.
