I’ve been looking for a small compact but useable midi keyboard. I knew about the Korg Nano Series (I have NanoPad) but I heard the the NanoKey’s actual keys are just like laptop keys. I need something a bit more like a piano than laptop keyboard. Almost settled on the idea of getting the NanoKey I stumble across Akai take on the Nano Series called the LPD8 and LPK25. Now I still think that NanoPad and NanoKontrol are still have the upper hand but the LPK25 destroys the NanoKey. Akai is giving these a ”sometime in Q3 this year” and I might pick up LPK25.

I’ve come across Jetdaisuke videos twice now without trying to find him. So I checked out his videos he has been posting online and well… they are quite entertaining. Even though I don’t speak a single word of Japanese (I can write my name in Japanese though!) these videos are very watchable. Maybe it helps that I know music gear he is reviewing or giving thoughts on. Anyways heres my favorite of the videos I’ve seen.

Cool App I found for the iPhone/iPod Touch called TouchOSC. It’s basically a touchscreen midi controller that uses wifi as a connection. It’s idea and presentation is similar to a Jazzmutant Lemur which go for like 3k or something stupid like that. So the TouchOSC is affordable option though not sure how well it would really work out in the live setting or really recording because it is so small. None the less looks flashy.

Rez HD is one of my favorite games of all time. It was originally released on the Dreamcast and the game was ported to PS2 as well. The game is a on-rail shooter which is very familar to Star Fox 64 single player. Combine that gameplay with trippy visuals, cool themes and electronic dance music and we have a winner. I didn’t truly get to enjoy this game until it was remade into HD and released on Xbox Live where I finally bought a copy. I think a lot people don’t know about this game and its a shame as it’s one of the better ones out there. I highly recommend it.

Finally I have dealt with the issues of my past sites with my new epic site. Solid design, clean code and stupid things like icon for the address bar. I’ve spent the last few days slaving away at this and it has paid off. One thing I want to point out is my new music player that is on the right. Check it. I don’t want to see another thing about html, css etc for a long time.

2009 has been an eye opener and one of the most productive years so far for me. I’m back on the scene with new material, new blog, new live show and in a month or two you’ll see new content. I just wanted those who come here to know that things are still active and alive. Sorry for the lack of updates but the wait is going to worth it, trust me.
