First took noticed in his artwork mainly because he did the artwork for two Basement Jaxx albums Rooty and Scars. He has done artwork for various other artists such as Beck and Goldfrapp. You can check out his portfolio here.

Over the past month or so I have been getting things done I been meaning to do for quite a while but have been putting off doing for no reason. Right now I’m close of organizing 8+ years worth of files. While I was going through some of my graphics I’ve done I found all these music icons I made for my songs while I was using Jeskola Buzz and thought it would be cool to share them again.

Soulfrost music icons I made from my Jeskola Buzz days.

Rez HD is one of my favorite games of all time. It was originally released on the Dreamcast and the game was ported to PS2 as well. The game is a on-rail shooter which is very familar to Star Fox 64 single player. Combine that gameplay with trippy visuals, cool themes and electronic dance music and we have a winner. I didn’t truly get to enjoy this game until it was remade into HD and released on Xbox Live where I finally bought a copy. I think a lot people don’t know about this game and its a shame as it’s one of the better ones out there. I highly recommend it.

Finally I have dealt with the issues of my past sites with my new epic site. Solid design, clean code and stupid things like icon for the address bar. I’ve spent the last few days slaving away at this and it has paid off. One thing I want to point out is my new music player that is on the right. Check it. I don’t want to see another thing about html, css etc for a long time.

So I guess Michael is finally and forever lost in Wonderland. I didn’t become really aware of Wonderland until about 2000-2001 when a game called America McGee’s Alice was released and I got a copy. The game took the original story and made it into a horror flick that was completely twisted.

America McGee's Alice

I loved it though I lost or gave the game away years ago. Felt the need to give the game another try recently. That’s exactly what I have been doing and visually it holds up well but some of the gameplay is painfully boring to play. Good thing I’m interested how this game will end (I totally forget) or I wouldn’t play the game.

So why the sudden interest in Wonderland again? I came across some release pictures of a new Tim Burton movie and his take on Alice and I actually can’t wait to see this movie. A rare thing for me these days.

As you can see that this movie is going to twisted and not so fluffy happy, which makes me happy. That above is Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. How awesome is that?

Other bits I’ve read that this movie will be in 3D, real life action and animation. Not sure if all this will be a good product at the end but the very little they have released I would like to think so. I did see Disney’s “Up” in 3D and to be honest the 3D in the movie was kinda just lame. Yeah there was depth to the view but it didn’t make you feel like it was in 3D because after 5 minutes nothing was standing out at you. It was like last minute thing to add.

I hope I’ve spark some interest in you for Wonderland and bored you mentioning Up. The few released pictures of the 2010 movie looks good so far and I’ll be keeping a close eye on any new details as they come.

*Update 06.19.10 – I saw this movie now a month or two ago and what a disappointment. I was hoping it was going to be similar to the video game mature tone but ended up ultimately a family movie.

Fritzology

I have been following Fritz’s photography for sometime now. And while I don’t know a ton about the art the bit I have seen he is most definitely one of my favorite photographers. But beyond that he also does a lot of quality web designs. The more I learn about the industry (web design) the more I can appreciate the work he does and mine as well. Due to the amount of people getting jobs whos work I think is not up to par to charge money for.

I highly recommend checking out his work! Check it out.
